Kaioh Michiru is a woman who is elegant, sophisticated and happens to be a world-famous musician. When you listen to her music, you can feel the waves of the ocean. When we are first introduced to Michiru, she is attending Mugen Gakuen or Infinity Academy, an elite private school for gifted students. In the manga, she also likes to collect cosmetics and can be caught applying lipstick. Compared to her NA dub version Michelle, Michiru isn't as cold-hearted or as willing to use sacrificial lambs. And unlike the Michelle, she is in a romantic relationship with Haruka. According to Naoko Takeuchi, their love blossomed from both their partnership and their friendship. While raising Hotaru, she is very motherly and feminine. She is not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.

The Soldier: Sailor Neptune; Super; Eternal
Although she may seem a bit obsessed with her duty, it is only out of her love and devotion for their planet and their princess. When she is introduced during the Death Busters Arc, she and Haruka had awakened too late. The invaders had already slipped into Earth and they had been investigating, trying to find a way to expel the invaders. They resisted the assistance of Sailor Moon and the other senshi because they believed the Death Busters fell under their jurisdiction. But because of Sailor Moon's love and acceptance, the outer senshi eventually come together and fight alongside the other senshi. In the Dead Moon Circus Arc, they undertake their true awakening, and become Super Sailor Soldiers. She is a passionate soldier of the ocean, who will do whatever it takes to protect their princess and the planet they live on.

The Past: Princess Neptune
A thousand years ago during the Silver Millennium, Princess Neptune had been chosen to be the guardian of her home planet, Neptune. When she was born, she was given the castle Triton by Queen Serenity. When she was young, she guarded the Moon Kingdom from Deep Space Invaders from afar. But whenever she began to feel lonely, she would think about the Princess, and they would seem to feel comfort from a voice that would seem to say "it's alright." She also held one of the three talismans that were the key to destruction. It is not known whether or not she had a romantic relationship with the Princess of Uranus. Unfortunately, when chaos and disaster struck the Moon Kingdom, the three talismans called the soldier of silence, Sailor Saturn. With the powers of the Ginzuishou, Queen Serenity brought the planetary princess back to life.
