The first time we see Makoto, she senses a storm approaching. However, the first time Usagi meets her in act 5, Makoto saves her from being run-over by a car! Even though Makoto helps Usagi, she still gets harassed at school by her teachers. Since she's so tall, they didn't have a uniform her size, and the teachers were suspicious that she had premed her hair. Not to mention the fact that rumors of her super-human strength and getting kicked out of her last school for being in a fight. Although she seems like she could be a bully, Usagi still befriends her while having lunch. In truth, Makoto is as much as a tomboy as she is a girlie-girl. We also find out that both of her parents are decceased because of an air plane crash, which is the reason why she is a fabulous cook and is very good at cleaning. And in her previous school, she had a sempai who broke her heart, and treated her badly at her previous school. So, she decided to transfer so she could move on. But she also sensed that she had a greater purpose...
The Soldier: Sailor Jupiter; Super; Eternal
Bestowed with Jupiter's protection, she is the senshi of thunder and courage, Sailor Jupiter. She also has the ability to manipulate flower petals, oak leaves, hurricanes, and sometimes coconuts. When it comes to the battle scene, Jupiter can become very aggressive and quick-tempered (Sometimes she is known to say naughty words I can't even put on here!) Even without her senshi powers, she has a lot of natural strength, and in the anime she was skilled with martial arts. She is also a senshi who is willing to give her all when it comes to a fight, and isn't afraid to sacrifice herself for what she believes in. She is constantly on her guard, and she never gives up. Later in the series, she has trials where she starts to doubt herself as a senshi, and is fooled into thinking that she would rather take care of flowers and have a bakery instead of fighting. But this isn't true! She fights through her anxieties, and becomes Super Sailor Jupiter, and remains loyal to her Princess.
The Past: Princess Jupiter
During the Silver Millennium, Princess Jupiter resided within the Io Castle. She was also one of the four guardians to the Princess. She was also chosen by the planet Jupiter to be its guardian as a senshi. Since Makoto has a tendency to be a mother hen, she probably looked out for Princess Serenity in more ways than one. In one colored art picture by Naoko, she is depicted as having some sort of relationship with Nephrite, but there is no other solid information regarding these two as an official couple. Unfortunately, during the Dark Kingdom's attack on the moon, she was killed by Queen Metallia. Queen Serenity, the ruler of the Silver Millennium, used the last of her power to reincarnate the fallen Senshi into the future.
