Usagi and Mamoru's Universe Screencap

About Usagi and Mamoru's Universe:
Usagi and Mamoru's Universe is a website dedicated to the eternal love of Chiba Mamoru and Tsukino Usagi.

1. Design (10/10 points)
The new layout looks very simple and clean. The navigation is visible, easy to understand. The color scheme is unique, since it employs more "skin tone" colors on the cute jagged side bars, and coexists with the flowery pattern in the background. It was nice to see an original image used in a layout so tastefully. I'm also happy that the layout does not seem to follow any trends that I have run into recently. The text is readable, and the layout loads in no time. Personally, I love it; and it looks good in both Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 3.

2. Content (15/15 points)
Site Map: The site map does not leave any questions unanswered in terms of categories, subpages or what?s inside of them.

Domain: In Site Info, under "Usagi and Mamoru - who, what, why?", protect was spelled incorrectly in this sentence: "They encounter many hardships and struggles throughout time...their love remains pure, strong, and true." For the Frequently Asked Questions , I find it amusing that people ask if you are Sailor Moon. There are a few spelling mistakes in the Past Layouts Archive. I think it would be more uniform to have all the layout screencaps to be the same size even though they are older designs. There are also some spelling mistakes in Usagi's Art; the only other suggestion I would make is thumbnails for the images, but that's a personal choice. In Credits and Thanks, the word "inspiration" was misspelled several times and the links to Moon & Venus and Erika are broken. There are minimal spelling and grammar mistakes in the Black List.

Information: "Shepherd" was spelled incorrectly in The Myth. I also think there is supposed to be a paragraph break for "The planet patron Earth". The information provided in this section was insightful, and there was also noted credit for sources. Bravo! No other mistakes were found in this section. I would love to see more information on this couple.

Galleries: On the introduction page to the galleries, "please bare with me" should be "please bear with me." Also, I liked how you organized each category. There are no broken links. The galleries were huge and they were all thumb-nailed or had a text-link to go to the actual image.

Multimedia : I was amazed at how many Wallpapers I found here! Not only are there wallpapers for Usagi and Mamoru, but there were was a significant variety of other kinds of wallpapers. There were a lot of Icons as well, and they were organized pretty well; the only suggestion I have is limiting the link options on the different icon pages to just "icons, multimedia and home". The UMU Jukebox did not have any broken links. To make it more organized, you could list the songs in alphabetical order. The word "viewing" was spelled wrong on both subpages of the Video Clips section; the quality of the videos were very good.

Fun Stuff: Everything in this section was fun, and unique. I know I will definitely print out the word searches.

FanListing: The link to the fan listing indeed worked, and I did notfind any broken links here. Some of the pages, such as the about section need to be run through a spell checker though.

Network: All of the links worked in the network section!

Guestbook: The guestbook matches the layout and is in working condition.

Exit: The frowny face is staring at me. (Just kidding). In Link Out, the text links to the SMToolbox and SailorMoonCyberCity is broken. The link to Moon Prism Power is also broken.

Clear: The link worked.

3. Originality (10/10)
The design of UMU is definitely original. I like the texture of the background, and the unique color scheme. I also like the style of the links and the headers. All of the pages were uniform in design, and the main image used as also original. UMU also has content beyond typical stats and figures for Usagi and Mamoru. And more than ever, you can tell that UMU is truly dedicated to this couple. Everything falls under its respective theme, and there are different kinds of fun things to enjoy and download.

4. Technical tidbits (5/5 points)
There are very few broken links such as those found in the link out section and the fan art section under galleries. There are quite a few spelling mistakes, but it is easily fixed with a spell checker. UMU is also very organized, and that makes it easier for visitors to enjoy this website.

5. Final Comments
UMU is a classic fansite that has been around for 7 years now, and it continues to become bigger and better. The design elements work beautifully together and there is so much content that it takes hours to go through it all. More importantly, you can tell that UMU is well-loved by its owner and you can literally see all the work that has been put into it. I believe that UMU is a website that will definitely be visited again, again, and again.
